About the Role:

The Software Engineering Manager will play a key leadership role within the Engineering function, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering. This position is responsible for leading multiple agile engineering teams, ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with business goals.

The role focuses on team development, resource planning, and driving technical excellence across the engineering function. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of working closely with Product Management, Architects, and other stakeholders to deliver the product roadmap while instilling best practices in engineering, documentation, and operational support.

As a pivotal member of the leadership team within the Belfast Centre of Excellence, the Software Engineering Manager will foster a collaborative, high-performance culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, organisational growth, and operational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive team performance through product delivery to meet business needs.
  • Develop effective teams of skilled professionals providing direction and coaching of agile working practices.
  • Build strong relationships engaging with peers and other colleagues working to common purposes from within the IT function and the wider business.
  • Expected to understand the business needs and lead your team to support delivery of the Product Roadmap.

Skills and Experience:

  • 10 years industry experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience building and leading Technical Agile Engineering Team(s)
  • Delivering and maintaining capacity planning across multiple your engineering teams
  • Capable of building highly scalable production software
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Expertise in mobile and web-technologies
  • Aptitude for problem solving, with the ability to apply logic and experience to assist with the development of solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
