Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and execution-driven Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the company’s end-to-end technology vision, architecture, and engineering execution. The CTO will be responsible for building and scaling core infrastructure systems, establishing robust security frameworks, and leading high-performance engineering teams. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong architectural thinking, and proven leadership in building complex, production-grade systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the overall technology strategy and architecture
- Design and oversee scalable, secure, and highly available systems
- Lead development across core platforms including digital identity, payments, wallet infrastructure, and backend systems
- Establish security-first engineering practices (encryption, key management, access control)
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams
- Drive system design decisions aligned with long-term scalability and reliability
- Collaborate with leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives
- Oversee product architecture, development lifecycle, and deployment pipelines
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria
a) Experience
- Minimum 12–15 years of total experience in software engineering
- Must have worked in no more than 3–4 companies over the last 12–15 years
- Candidates with frequent job changes will not be considered
b) Technical Background
- Strong hands-on experience in backend engineering and system architecture
- Experience in distributed systems and scalable infrastructure
- Strong database design knowledge (PostgreSQL or distributed databases)
- Experience with API design (REST, WebSockets)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Deep understanding of security systems (authentication, encryption, key management)
c) Domain Experience (At Least One Required)
- FinTech (payments, wallets, banking systems)
- Blockchain / Web3 infrastructure
- Large-scale SaaS platforms
- Security or cryptographic systems
d) Leadership Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, VP Engineering, or CTO)
- Experience leading teams of 10+ engineers
- Experience in hiring, mentoring, and scaling engineering teams
- Proven ownership of production-grade systems
e) System Scale Exposure
- Must have designed or contributed to systems handling high concurrency and large user bases (preferably 1M+ users or equivalent scale)
Founder / Co-Founder Consideration
Candidates who are current or former Founders or Co-Founders of technology startups are strongly encouraged to apply.
They must demonstrate:
- Hands-on involvement in building technology and products
- Experience scaling systems or teams from early stage
- Clear ownership of architecture and technical decision-making
Founder experience will be considered a strong advantage, provided all core technical and experience criteria are met.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building financial infrastructure or wallet systems
- Exposure to cryptography, MPC, or secure system design
- Strong understanding of Web2 and Web3 hybrid architectures
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Screening Requirements

- Relevant experience in financial, security, or infrastructure systems
- Details of startup/founder experience (if applicable)

This is a high-seniority leadership role; only candidates meeting the above criteria will be considered. Candidates without deep backend/system experience or leadership exposure will not be shortlisted.
