Engineering VP

Our client is a leading global digital financial services and technology platform known for providing secure, compliant, and high-performance solutions for international transactions. The company operates across multiple markets and supports both traditional and next-generation digital payment ecosystems.

They are now looking for an Engineering VP (Cross-Border Payment Technology) to drive the architecture, development, and global deployment of their cross-border payment infrastructure.

Role Overview

The Engineering VP will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and compliant cross-border payment systems while leading a distributed engineering organization. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in global payment technologies and has a proven track record in managing high-caliber engineering teams across regions. Experience in Web3 or blockchain-based payments is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of cross-border payment platforms and related infrastructure.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a globally distributed engineering team across multiple time zones.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams to ensure seamless business and regulatory alignment across markets.
  • Continuously enhance system reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Stay ahead of innovations in payments, digital assets, and Web3, identifying opportunities for product and infrastructure advancement.
  • Shape long-term technology strategy and foster a strong, high-performing engineering culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in fintech or payment technology, including at least 3+ years focused on cross-border payment systems.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership experience, ideally involving cross-border or multicultural team management.
  • Strong understanding of global payment mechanisms (e.g., SWIFT, card networks, global e-wallets, virtual accounts).
  • Excellent English communication skills and comfort working with international stakeholders.
  • Solid experience in distributed systems, security architecture, and compliance frameworks.
  • Background in Web3, digital asset payments, or blockchain-based payment solutions is a significant plus.

Nice to Have

  • Prior leadership experience in a fintech or Web3 startup environment.
  • Hands-on experience building payment infrastructure from 0 to 1.
  • Deep familiarity with global payment compliance, settlement flows, and regulatory frameworks.
