A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced technology leader to serve as Director of Engineering for its Capital Markets domain, with responsibility for advancing modern engineering practices and integrating AI-driven capabilities into core platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the engineering strategy and technology roadmap for the Capital Markets domain
- Own delivery, execution quality, and operational excellence across multiple engineering teams
- Lead complex modernization initiatives, integrating core legacy platforms with modern, distributed architectures
- Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies, API-first design, and event-driven systems
- Promote the responsible use of AI technologies to improve engineering efficiency and platform capabilities
- Build, mentor, and develop senior engineering leaders and teams
- Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of latency-sensitive, real-time systems
- Work closely with senior business stakeholders in a matrixed organizational structure
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in a Director of Engineering or equivalent senior technology leadership role
- Proven experience operating within large-scale or enterprise technology organizations
- Demonstrated success in leading system modernization or large-scale digital transformation initiatives
- Strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern architectures
- Experience with Agile methodologies at scale, CI/CD, and engineering governance
- Prior exposure to capital markets, financial systems, or regulated environments is a strong advantage
- Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities and leadership presence
