We’re Hiring: Director of Engineering

Location: HSR Layout, Bengaluru
Work Schedule: 6 days/week (5 days in-office + Saturdays WFH)

We are looking for a hands-on Director of Engineering to lead the technical foundation and architecture of a cutting-edge AI, 3D, and XR platform. This role is ideal for a strong technical leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while building scalable systems from the ground up.

This is not a pure management role — expect to spend 50–60% of your time writing code, solving deep technical problems, and owning mission-critical systems.

As the company scales, this role is designed to transition into a CTO position, taking ownership of long-term technical vision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Define and drive the technical architecture of AI, 3D, and XR platforms
Lead development of scalable, high-performance systems
Contribute hands-on to coding, debugging, and system optimization
Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams
Collaborate closely with founders and leadership on product strategy
Establish engineering best practices, processes, and culture
Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of production systems

Mandatory Requirements

9+ years of engineering experience
3–4 years in technical leadership roles
Strong hands-on expertise in React / Next.js
Backend experience with Node.js or Python
Solid experience working with AWS
Proven experience designing scalable architectures
Experience deploying AI/ML solutions
Strong knowledge of 3D graphics / WebGL / Three.js
Background from SaaS / Software / IT Services startups or scale-up companies only

Highly Desirable Skills

AI/ML deployment experience (Computer Vision, Generative AI, 3D reconstruction)
Experience with real-time systems and rendering optimizations
Exposure to large-scale pipelines
Background in B2B SaaS, XR, Gaming, or Immersive Tech
Experience scaling engineering teams from 5 to 20+ engineers
Open-source contributions or technical content creation
Experience working closely with founders or executive leadership
