NanoX is building the world's first commercially viable lithium-free semi-solid state battery modules — and we're looking for a hands-on CTO to take our technology from validated cells to market-ready packs. This isn't a strategy-only role. We need a builder.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of battery pack and module architectures (high-voltage and low-voltage)
  • Cell-to-pack integration engineering for our proprietary semi-solid state chemistry
  • BMS design and integration, thermal management, and electrical safety systems
  • Busbar design, laser/ultrasonic welding processes, and tab-to-busbar interconnect engineering
  • Taking products from prototype → pilot → commercial production
  • Building and leading a lean technical team across four countries (USA, India, Netherlands, South Korea)
  • Working directly with contract manufacturers, vendor qualification, and supply chain partners

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years in battery systems engineering — you've personally designed and built packs and modules
  • Deep knowledge of HV and LV pack architectures, series/parallel configurations, and safety systems
  • Hands-on experience with BMS (hardware and firmware), thermal simulation, and pack-level testing
  • Proven track record with cell integration, busbar routing, welding processes, and DFM
  • Familiarity with battery certifications: UL810A, UL 1973, UN 38.3, IEC 62619, and equivalent standards
  • Startup DNA — you're comfortable being an IC on Monday and presenting to investors on Friday
  • Bonus: Experience with non-lithium or next-generation chemistries — semi-solid state, sodium-ion, or similar

What We Offer

  • Co-founder-level impact at an early-stage deep tech startup
  • Meaningful equity stake (details discussed with serious candidates)
  • The opportunity to shape an entirely new battery chemistry's path to market
  • A global team with active operations in the US, India, Netherlands, and South Korea
  • Direct collaboration with the founding team and Tier 1 defense and commercial customers

About NanoX

NanoX is not another lithium-ion company. We're proving that lithium-free, semi-solid state batteries are commercially viable — safer, NDAA-compliant, and built for the markets that need an alternative to Chinese-dominated supply chains. We need a CTO who can turn breakthrough cells into products the world can use.

About TheNanoX

The next generation of Lithium-Free Semi-Solid-State Batteries is designed to merge the best qualities of Batteries and Supercapacitors. This cutting-edge technology delivers rapid charging, high Energy Density, and significantly longer life cycles with unmatched safety. Ideally suited for industries demanding high-performance, reliable, and safe Energy Storage solutions. Our Lithium-Free Semi-Solid-State Battery sets a new benchmark in Energy Storage by combining advanced Materials Science with breakthrough safety and performance. Built with proven cathode materials—Manganese (Mn), Cobalt (Co), Nickel (Ni), and Niobium (Nb)—alongside six proprietary critical minerals and a curved Graphene anode, this chemistry delivers exceptional efficiency without relying on Lithium. The use of curved Graphene enables superior electrical conductivity and expanded surface area, enhancing both charge and discharge rates. The Semi-Solid Electrolyte architecture further improves thermal stability and structural integrity.
