Position Overview
We are seeking a highly technical IT Manager with a strong developer background to lead a growing, onsite engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader with 3–5 years of management experience who enjoys staying close to the code while building, mentoring, and guiding high‑performing agile teams.
The team is currently expanding to approximately 8 full‑time engineers plus contractors, primarily working onsite. This role will play a key part in shaping technical direction, driving engineering best practices, and ensuring high‑quality delivery across multiple initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Provide hands‑on technical leadership in the design, development, and support of large‑scale, web‑based applications and services
- Guide full‑stack development across C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and modern front‑end frameworks
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable infrastructure, APIs, and distributed systems
- Support cloud‑based platforms and containerized services across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
- Ensure high standards for code quality, security, performance, and maintainability
People Management & Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of full‑time engineers and contractors, fostering a strong engineering culture
- Manage day‑to‑day team performance, career development, and continuous feedback
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a technical point of contact for cross‑functional partners and leadership
- Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions and execution plans
- Communicate risks, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs effectively
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in an IT Management, Engineering Manager, or Technical Lead role
- Strong prior hands‑on experience as a software developer
- High proficiency in:
- C# / .NET
- JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Responsive web development
- Vue.js, Knockout, Bootstrap, or similar frameworks
- Full‑stack development experience across UI, APIs, and backend services
- Experience designing and building large‑scale web services and infrastructure
- Exposure to distributed systems and data‑intensive applications
- Experience with cloud platforms and container services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and modern SDLC practices
