Role Overview
Own Saya’s technology strategy and execution to keep us at the frontier of digital- and AI-native biopharma. This is a hands-on, builder CTO role: you will architect our internal tooling and data/automation layer, perfect our operating processes in a Notion-first environment, and ship integrations across core systems (CRM, ERP, analytics, collaboration). You will translate business priorities into systems that make the company faster, more rigorous, and more scalable, contrasting with the highly regulated, often inefficient legacy pharma operating model, while maintaining and accelerating our extreme leanness through order-of-magnitude gains in efficiency (process cycle time and headcount). This role is both strategic and execution-oriented: you will set the direction, but also personally drive high-leverage builds and integrations.
Scope of the Role
- Own the company-wide digital and AI operating system: knowledge, workflows, data, automation, and reporting.
- Make our tech stack reliable, governed, and scalable without slowing the organization down.
- Build integrations and automations that remove manual work and improve decision quality.

Experience & Profile
Must Have
- Proven builder and operator: you have shipped internal platforms/integrations that changed how a company runs.
- Strong software engineering foundation (Computer Science or equivalent experience) and hands-on coding ability in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Built and maintained API-first integrations (OAuth2, webhooks, rate limits, background jobs) with production reliability patterns (idempotency, retries, monitoring).
- Strong understanding of modern AI tooling (LLMs, retrieval, evaluation, prompt/workflow engineering) and how to operationalize it.
- Excellent systems thinking: can turn messy processes into clean, scalable workflows.
- Strong written communication and documentation habits.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience with CRM/ERP implementations and integrations (especially Veeva and SAP or comparable systems).
- Familiarity with regulated environments (healthcare, pharma, fintech, etc.) where governance matters.
Digital & AI Expectations
- Builds AI into daily workflows with rigor: clear data boundaries, evaluation, monitoring, and human review where appropriate.
- Notion-first documentation and high transparency; leaves a strong trail of decisions, assumptions, and system changes.
