Summary of the Position
As the Director of Engineering and Product Development, you will execute global projects and initiatives with your knowledge and application of product design and roll out. You will also lead a global team of individuals to maximize their potentials and deliver innovative new products to market.

Key Responsibilities
Research
- Develop a deep understanding of packaged gas distribution and management equipment technologies and applications
- Monitor emerging technologies and applications, identify opportunities for new products, product enhancements, and potential applications for existing products and technologies
- Maintain awareness and deep understanding of competitive portfolio (design, cost, technologies, features/benefits)
- Proactively recommend new products and features/benefits to existing products
- Prioritize the development activities that align with HPG's product development roadmap
Product Development
- Partner with BU leadership on the project selection process and creating a longer-term product roadmap
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and key stakeholders to define product requirements, features/benefits, target costs, and manufacturing processes
- Lead the global product development process (stage gate), driving process improvements, managing timelines, budgets, and resources; bringing new products to market quickly while meeting the specified requirements
- Provide project management expertise and guidance to accomplish targeted development schedules and milestones
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional leaders to remove roadblocks and improve productivity
- Respond to market and internal feedback with evolutions and modifications
Team Management
- Directly manage the U.S. based product engineering team and act as global leader of the Gas Equipment engineering team: managing resource assignments, project guidance and oversight, talent development, capability matrix
- Cultivate an environment that encourages team members to understand customer needs and drive innovation
- Lead staffing initiatives to recruit and retain top talent
- Oversee performance assessment process of department
Education/Requirements
- Thrives in solving problems and finding creative solutions. Uses skillsets to drive innovation and change that provides better superior value to our customers.
- 10+ years of product design/engineering experience
- B.S. Engineering; Mechanical preferred, other disciplines will be considered with relevant experience
- 5+ years managing and developing talent
- A drive and passion to work in a manufacturing environment
- Master and/or 6Sigma Black Belt certification desired.
- Ability to relate well with plant personnel at all levels.
