This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineering Manager - REMOTE. In this role, you will play a critical part in leading the development of our authentication and authorization platform. You’ll oversee a talented team, ensuring they produce high-quality solutions that enhance user experience and security. Your leadership will not only drive technical excellence but will also foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. By aligning technical goals with business objectives, you help establish trust and efficiency across our systems, making a significant impact on our operational effectiveness.

Accountabilities

  • Define authorization for AI workflows and design authentication for non-human actors.
  • Evolve the identity layer in Auth0 to enhance authentication and token issuance.
  • Maintain and mature the Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC) OpenFGA model.
  • Drive large-scale technical projects across multiple teams and systems.
  • Mentor team members, promoting collaboration and high standards.
  • Take ownership of team deliverables and drive projects from ideation to production.
  • Proactively identify risks and blockers in project planning and execution.
  • Foster a positive culture and embody core company principles.
  • Lead, mentor, and support team growth through regular meetings and feedback.
  • Partner with recruiting to define hiring criteria and onboard new team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional engineering experience, with leadership or management experience.
  • At least 3 years in engineering management, including team development.
  • Deep knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
  • Hands-on experience with ReBAC systems like OpenFGA.
  • Familiarity with identity providers such as Auth0, Okta, or Azure AD.
  • Proficiency in backend languages (Java, Ruby, or Python) and web frameworks (Spring Boot, Rails, or Django).
  • Experience with AI coding tools in the development workflow.
  • Strong collaboration and decision-making abilities focused on equity and learning.
