We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead and develop engineering teams for a flagship e-commerce platform. This role combines strategic leadership with technical oversight, ensuring delivery of scalable, high-quality software while fostering team growth. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, translates business goals into clear technical plans, and drives process improvement across the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with Product, DevOps, QA, and Architecture teams to maintain technical excellence, remove roadblocks, and guide engineers to deliver predictable, high-impact results. Strong people management, Agile discipline, and a modern web technology background are essential.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop full-stack engineering teams, setting clear expectations and fostering career growth.
  • Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery by managing sprint cadence, backlog health, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable technical plans in partnership with Product, DevOps, QA, and Architecture.
  • Drive improvements in platform security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Establish operational rhythm, remove roadblocks, clarify priorities, and balance capacity across competing demands.
  • Enhance software development processes including CI/CD, observability, code quality, and documentation.
  • Guide teams through high-visibility initiatives while aligning stakeholders and maintaining focus under pressure.
  • Conduct performance management, feedback, and development planning to grow high-performing engineers and future leaders.

Requirements:

  • 5–8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing or leading development teams.
  • Strong technical background in Node.js, React, cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure transferrable).
  • Experience with GraphQL or similar real-time API frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CircleCI).
  • Proven success leading Agile teams that balance speed, quality, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve delivery practices, including release management, test automation, and code review culture.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills bridging technical and product conversations.
  • Strategic problem solver with a collaborative mindset and ability to align teams toward shared outcomes.
  • Ownership-driven, decisive, and able to navigate ambiguity under pressure.
  • Knowledge of PCI compliance requirements and secure coding principles.
  • Preferred: experience with e-commerce platforms, large-scale/high-traffic systems, serverless/edge computing, and distributed systems.
