VP Engineering | Stockholm | Fintech | Hybrid
edenity partners with companies at inflection points; moments where engineering organisations need to evolve structurally, not just incrementally.
We’re currently supporting a Nordic fintech operating within a high-availability, regulated environment as they appoint a VP Engineering to lead the next phase of technical and organisational maturity.
The business has strong foundations, an established engineering function and meaningful scale already in place. The focus now is modernising how engineering operates across a team of ~60 engineers, with AI-native workflows, sharper execution standards and stronger operational consistency becoming central to the organisation’s future direction.
The Role
- Lead and evolve a 50-60 person engineering organisation
- Establish scalable AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows
- Improve delivery quality, velocity and engineering consistency
- Drive organisational and operational change across engineering teams
- Partner with executive leadership on technical strategy and transformation
- Raise standards around architecture, testing, deployment safety and engineering rigor
- Support performance management, organisational design and selective hiring upgrades where needed
- Operate effectively within a regulated, business-critical environment where stability and uptime matter
We’re Looking For
- Significant senior engineering leadership experience within complex product or infrastructure businesses
- Strong technical judgement and architectural depth
- Hands-on understanding of modern AI-assisted software development practices
- Experience leading engineering teams through change and operational scaling
- Comfortable operating across both executive strategy and engineering detail
- Direct communicator with strong decision-making capability and organisational resilience
Technical Environment
The environment includes a modern cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, internal operational platforms and customer-facing product infrastructure across backend-heavy engineering teams.
AI tooling and assisted development practices already exist internally, but adoption and workflows are currently inconsistent. This role exists to unify and accelerate that evolution in a structured, production-safe way.
