The Mission

The Chief Technology Officer will be the architect of the technology, infrastructure, and AI systems that power Steven.com’s creator OS across Media, Incubator, and Fund. This role turns the company’s mission into robust, scalable products and platforms that enable creators and founder-led businesses to launch, grow, and operate more effectively.

Your mission is to design and own the end‑to‑end technical vision for Steven.com, from core infrastructure and cybersecurity through to AI-driven products and tools that compound the impact of the ecosystem. You will bias toward engineering over product, building a world‑class technical organisation that can ship fast, safely, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and own the long‑term technology strategy and architecture for Steven.com across Media, Incubator, and Fund, with a focus on building the “creator OS.”
  • Design and build the complete cloud infrastructure for steven.com, ensuring scalability, reliability, observability, and strong security foundations from day one.
  • Establish technical standards, patterns, and governance for how products, services, and data are designed, integrated, and maintained.

AI & Data Platform

  • Lead AI strategy and execution, including model selection, integration, and in‑house capabilities, to power creator tools, automation, and intelligent workflows.
  • Build a modern data platform (collection, storage, governance, analytics) that underpins AI features and drives better decisions across Media, Incubator, and Fund.
  • Ensure AI systems are safe, compliant, and aligned with Steven.com’s brand, values, and responsibilities to creators and audiences.

Engineering Organisation & Delivery

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing engineering team, hiring top‑tier talent across backend, frontend, data, AI/ML, DevOps, and security.
  • Create an engineering culture that values ownership, speed, craftsmanship, and learning, with clear rituals, processes, and performance standards.
  • Implement modern engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, code review, incident management) to enable fast, reliable shipping of new products and features.

Creator OS & Product Enablement

  • Translate the vision for the “creator OS” into a coherent technical roadmap, collaborating closely with product and business leaders while remaining primarily hands‑on and engineering‑led.
  • Architect and oversee the development of tools and platforms that help creators and founder‑led ventures manage content, audiences, revenue, and operations.
  • Integrate third‑party tools and platforms where strategically sensible, while building proprietary capabilities that differentiate Steven.com.

Security, Risk & Reliability

  • Own cybersecurity strategy and implementation, including threat modelling, access control, data protection, and incident response.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices for data privacy, security, and uptime, especially across media and financial/venture workflows.
  • Build robust monitoring, alerting, and resilience into all critical systems, with clear SLAs and reliability targets.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with leaders across Media, Incubator, and Fund to understand needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions that compound value across the ecosystem.
  • Communicate complex technical decisions in clear, commercial language to executive leadership, investors, and partners.
  • Represent Steven.com’s technology vision externally with key partners, vendors, and the broader creator and startup ecosystem.

Experience

  • 8+ years in engineering leadership roles, including experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, or similar, owning architecture and delivery of complex systems at scale.
  • Proven track record of designing and building greenfield infrastructure and platforms, ideally from incubator, startup studio, media, or similar high‑velocity environments.
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML stacks, data platforms, and integrating AI into real products and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, secure architecture, and compliance considerations in cloud‑native environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, structure, and lead high‑performing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and establishing culture.
  • Able to connect technology decisions to business, media, and investment strategy, creating leverage across multiple business units.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, building from scratch with limited resources, and iterating quickly.
  • Deep interest in the creator economy and belief in Steven.com’s mission to build iconic, community‑first companies.
