Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, electrical systems, and life safety equipment, ensuring optimal performance and luxury-level service
  • Lead and ensure the effective operation of all engineering systems, guaranteeing that all equipment operates at peak efficiency, safety, and effectiveness
  • Manage the engineering department’s budget, including capital expenditures, operational costs, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation projects
  • Conduct regular evaluations of the facility’s condition and make recommendations for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to maintain the property’s luxurious standards
  • Supervise day-to-day engineering operations in the absence of the Director of Engineering
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the property

Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or a related professional area, with technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • OR
  • A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major; at least 2 years of relevant experience in engineering or maintenance, with technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality setting is preferred

Work Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a residential setting with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, people, and equipment. Due to travel, the incumbent is exposed to vehicles, planes, and other methods of transportation
  • Able to work independently or as a team member and support managers with special projects
  • Strong collaboration skills – works well across functional areas—excellent relationship-building skills; able to collaborate with various levels of the organization

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
