Responsibilities - What you’ll do day to day

  • Lead the engineering team, ensuring they have the resources needed to be successful
  • Performance management
  • Mentorship
  • Development and recruitment
  • Manage projects include setting scope, budgets, timelines, resource management and fulfillment
  • Align business goals with the company’s technical capabilities
  • Research technologies and provide direction on how to optimize current and future projects
  • Work with Executive Leadership to make decisions for operational activities and execute strategic planning and goals for the business
  • Define and develop architectural plans for technical milestones
  • Cultivate policies and procedures that work across our production and non-production systems
  • Consult with clients – build relationships, discuss requirements, lend expertise
  • Develop architectural road maps for our product development, with a lens of sustainability
  • Plan in the big picture, looking ahead at the 2 year road map, while maintaining support in the day to day
  • Support implementation and adherence to various compliance programs (ISO 27001, ISO 13485, GDPR, etc)
  • Act intentionally to not just oversee the department, but to grow it in a sustainable way

Qualifications - Who you are day to day / What you need to get the job

  • 3+ years in a technical leadership position (people and/or projects)
  • 5+ years experience in various aspects of software development
  • React or similar JavaScript frameworks
  • C++, C#, and/or Python
  • Software licensing
  • SaaS products
  • 5+ years experience with cloud technologies
  • Linux / server management
  • Virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
  • Storage systems and backup solutions
  • Hands on experience with compliance and regulatory standards
  • An understanding of the difference between leadership and management
