Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Our is a technology company based in Dallas, Texas, that specializes in workforce management, job site access control, and labor data analytics for the construction industry.
Our client is hiring a hands-on CTO to own their end-to-end technology vision, execution, security, and engineering operations. You’ll inherit a live, revenue-generating platform with modern architecture, active product development, and a successfully audited SOC 2 environment. This role is ideal for a pragmatic leader who can translate business strategy into secure, scalable technology, while driving the company’s evolution toward an AI-first engineering culture.
What You’ll Own
- Technology Strategy & Architecture: Define and evolve platform architecture, scalability, and roadmap across cloud, data, integrations, and access control
- Engineering Leadership: Lead and scale distributed engineering, QA, and technical ops teams; establish strong SDLC and predictable delivery
- AI-First Transformation: Drive adoption of AI across engineering (e.g., coding, testing, automation); champion use of tools like Claude and emerging agents; lead cultural and workflow transformation
- Security & Compliance: Own SOC 2 posture, security practices, audits, and risk management
- Infrastructure & Reliability: Ensure uptime, monitoring, and resilience for mission-critical, field-based operations (including connected devices)
- Executive Partnership: Partner with CEO and leadership; represent technology with customers, partners, and auditors
What We’re Looking For
- 15+ years in software engineering with senior leadership experience (CTO / VP Eng level)
- Proven track record building and scaling SaaS platforms in cloud-native environments
- Strong expertise in modern stacks (React, React Native, .NET preferred) and API-driven architectures
- Experience driving adoption of AI tools in engineering workflows (or strong point of view on AI-first development)
- Deep experience with security, compliance, and regulated environments
- Experience leading distributed/global teams
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems (build vs. buy, integration, governance)
- Ability to operate across strategy, architecture, and execution
