We are looking for an Engineering Leader to join our founding team and take full ownership of the backend architecture and core system foundations of our platform. You will design, build, and scale the APIs, services, infra, and data systems that power a global wealth investing experience. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves 0→1 challenges, deep system design, and building high-performance, secure, global-grade fintech systems. You will be hands-on in coding, writing efficient and scalable code in Node.js, Python or similar language, as well as overseeing the technical aspects of projects. You will also be managing a team of developers.
This role is based in GIFT City, Ahmedabad — India’s fast-growing international financial hub. We are building for the world from India’s most promising global fintech destination.
Responsibilities:
- Own the architecture, design, development, and deployment of backend systems and core services.
- Build scalable, secure, low-latency APIs and distributed systems powering our mobile and web products.
- Write clean, maintainable, high-performance code in Node.js, Go, Python, Java or similar.
- Lead database architecture, caching layers, messaging queues, and microservices design.
- Implement robust security foundations — authentication, authorization, data protection, and compliance.
- Integrate end-to-end with brokers, custodians, payment partners, KYC systems, and data providers.
- Set up and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Ensure systems are resilient, fault-tolerant, and ready for global scale from Day 1.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Mobile, and Web to translate business needs into elegant technical solutions.
- Establish coding standards, documentation, testing practices, and overall engineering excellence.
- Own backend sprint planning, execution, delivery, and code quality.
- Participate in high-level architectural discussions and long-term technical strategy with founders.
- Mentor junior engineers as the backend team grows.
- Work with cloud-native and distributed systems leveraging services like Lambda, ECS, S3, etc.
- Manage Docker/Kubernetes deployments and DevOps tooling (Terraform, Helm, Ansible).
- Build and operate messaging and streaming systems using SQS, Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, and caching using Redis/Memcached.
- Maintain a high bar for quality through code reviews, unit/integration testing, and strong documentation.
Requirements:
- BE/BTech/MTech in Computer Science or a related field (IIT/NITs preferred)
- 6-12 years of backend engineering experience with strong architecture/design ownership
- Deep expertise in one or more modern backend languages (Go, Node.js, Python, Java, etc.)
- Strong technical background with expertise in modern technologies and architectures.
- Passion for Fintech and a desire to drive technological innovation in the industry.
