ABOUT VENDRA INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS
Vendra Intelligent Systems is building compliance infrastructure for regulated retail. Our platform addresses access control, real-time verification, and chain-of-custody management — problems that exist wherever product moves through a licensed, regulated environment.
We are a Delaware C-Corp headquartered in Puerto Rico, operating under Act 60 tax incentives. The team has deep operational roots across multiple regulated verticals and U.S. jurisdictions, with direct relationships at the operator and regulatory level.
The core API is built, tested, and functional. We are not looking for someone to start from scratch — we are looking for someone to own what exists, harden it, and scale it.
THE ROLE
This is a co-founder-level position. The CTO will be the technical authority of the company — responsible for the architecture, the roadmap, the codebase, and the team we build around it. You will work directly with the CEO and be a visible face of the company to enterprise clients, partners, and investors.
The right person is not just a strong engineer. They are a technical leader who understands what it means to build in a regulated environment — where compliance is architecture, not an afterthought.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Full technical ownership of the platform — architecture, codebase, infrastructure, and roadmap
- Lead the Q4 2026 pilot deployment end-to-end
- Define and build the engineering team as we scale toward Series A
- Represent the technical vision to investors, enterprise clients, and regulators
- Collaborate with the CEO on product strategy, partnerships, and fundraising narrative
- Establish and enforce security, compliance, and audit standards across the stack
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of engineering experience with at least 2 in a technical leadership role
- Experience building in regulated industries strongly preferred
- Strong backend and API fundamentals — our stack is API-first and compliance-critical
- Familiarity with access control systems, audit logging, or chain-of-custody workflows a significant plus
- IoT or hardware-adjacent experience helpful but not required
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders — you will be in the room with clients and investors
- Entrepreneurial mindset — you are comfortable with ambiguity, ownership, and building with a lean team
