This Job is For You If:
- You’re a hands-on Sr Manufacturing Engineer with deep CNC machining experience who enjoys being on the floor solving complex machining problems.
- You thrive in low-volume, high-mix machining environments and know how to optimize tooling, fixturing, setups, and programs for performance and quality.
- You love using data—ERP, dashboards, and analytics—to understand true capacity, constraints, and improvement opportunities, not just relying on tribal knowledge.
- You’re energized by driving standardization and continuous improvement across multiple plants, building common machining playbooks and best practices.
- You want a highly visible, technical leadership role where you partner directly with the COO and plant leaders to shape how manufacturing is executed across the company.
- You’re comfortable in a lean, smaller-company environment where you roll up your sleeves daily and personally drive change rather than delegating everything.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the primary CNC machining expert, including tooling, fixturing, machine optimization, and process troubleshooting across multiple sites.
- Personally gather, analyze, and validate machining data to determine true capacity, bottlenecks, and performance gaps.
- Lead machining improvements that reduce cycle time and setup time, extend tool life, improve quality, and lower scrap.
- Build and maintain machining capacity models for all sites and use tools like Power BI to create dashboards that clearly show throughput and constraints.
- Independently extract and analyze ERP data (e.g., Infor Sightline, Global Shop Solutions or similar) to drive decisions and track the impact of changes.
- Lead Kaizen events focused on machining, changeover reduction, workflow efficiency, and overall productivity improvement.
- Implement standardized machining processes, best practices, and playbooks across all plants, including structured approaches for production transfers between sites.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to machining supervisors, leads, and engineers across the multi-site footprint, partnering with plant managers as peers.
- Foster a culture of problem-solving, accountability, and continuous improvement while maintaining clear, direct communication with executive leadership.
- Be based in Cranberry Township, PA, with occasional travel to Nevada, California, and Florida to support and align the broader manufacturing network.
Qualifications, partial list:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in CNC machining or machining-focused roles.
- Strong hands-on machining background, including tooling, fixturing, setups, and ideally some G-code knowledge.
- Significant experience in low-volume, high-mix machining environments.
- Demonstrated success personally performing data analysis and turning insights into measurable performance improvements.
- Experience working with ERP data (Infor Sightline, Global Shop Solutions, or similar systems).
- Proven capability leading Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and capacity analysis initiatives.
- Ability to excel in a smaller, lean organization with limited support resources while still driving best-in-class results.
- Track record of “rolling up sleeves” and executing directly, not just directing others.
About The Company:
- A high-precision manufacturer backed by a respected private equity firm—offering long-term stability and opportunity for impact.
- Located in Cranberry Township, PA, a thriving suburb north of Pittsburgh known for its strong community, top-rated schools, and quality of life.
- A multi-site, global operation where your expertise will directly influence performance, culture, and continued growth across key markets.
