The Role
At Trideca, we are looking for a bold, hands-on Chief Technology Officer who is excited by the opportunity to build something truly significant — your own AI practice from the ground up.
Opportunities like this are rare! Your core mandate will be to build and scale Trideca's AI capability, with the autonomy and support to develop, grow, and commercialize AI solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes for both Trideca and our enterprise clients.
As Trideca's most senior technology leader, this role offers the chance to define the vision, shape the capability, and lead the next phase of growth for both the traditional engineering team and AI-driven transformation. You will play a pivotal role in establishing how AI becomes embedded in our services, our solutions, and the value we deliver to some of Australia's largest organizations.
We are looking for a leader who loves getting into the detail with engineers, architecting world-class solutions, and leading by example. This is a true lead-by-doing role where you will work alongside brilliant technologists, challenge thinking, and ensure everything we deliver is technically exceptional and commercially impactful.
You will be responsible for creating and scaling Trideca's AI capability in addition to the engineering roadmap, where you will define the strategy, build and develop the team, develop the offerings, and take cutting-edge technology solutions to enterprise clients. From shaping our AI roadmap to winning new opportunities and delivering transformative engineering programs, you will sit at the center of how Trideca grows its technology footprint.

How will you make an impact:
- Lead and shape Trideca's next phase of growth by setting the strategic direction for how technology and AI are leveraged internally and for our clients.
- Establish and scale a greenfield AI practice, defining the vision, capability roadmap, service offerings, and commercial strategy to position Trideca as a leading AI transformation partner.
- Build and grow a high-performing team of engineers, consultants, and strategists who are passionate about solving complex problems and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
- Develop strong executive relationships with key clients, deeply understanding their strategic objectives and aligning Trideca's technology and AI solutions to deliver measurable value.
- Drive go-to-market initiatives that connect emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and customer outcomes to generate new business opportunities and expand Trideca's market presence.
- Partner closely with the executive leadership team to turn strategic ideas into actionable outcomes, identifying new growth opportunities across technology, AI, and digital transformation.
- Design and deliver pragmatic transformation roadmaps that leverage data, automation, and artificial intelligence to solve real business challenges and deliver lasting commercial impact.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, excellence, and accountability, encouraging teams to innovate, challenge the status quo, and deliver high-quality solutions at pace. As a leader, you will champion best practice and continuously evolve our processes and delivery methodologies.
- Own the financial performance of the technology function, including budget management, forecasting, cost centre accountability, and ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
About You
You are a builder and strategic leader with a passion for impact. You've built technology practices before, and you know what it takes to blend vision, innovation, and flawless execution.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and scaling AI, machine learning, and data-driven solutions within complex technology environments.
- Strong understanding of modern AI development frameworks and data platforms with the ability to translate emerging AI capabilities into practical, enterprise-ready solutions.
- Hands-on credibility across the full AI lifecycle, from data strategy and model development to deployment, governance, and commercial application.
- Proven success building and leading a technology practice from the ground up - from winning and growing new customers, expanding capability, and building teams to managing the P&L. We want to understand the successes, failures, and learnings from your experience.
- Deep experience in consulting or professional services, ideally within a complex enterprise environment.
- Having a customer-first delivery focus is imperative for this role. Trideca is not a product environment, and alignment to our company value of Customer Comes First is paramount.
- Strong commercial acumen. You understand how decisions impact profitability, growth, and client value within your department.
- A strong personal network and ability to identify and generate new business opportunities that align with Trideca's strategy the drive for growth both individually and as a business is critical, we all want to win at Trideca!
- Exceptional leadership skills. This role doesn't come with an abundance of people at your disposal, we have a small but powerful internal team, and everyone is hands-on and accountable.
- Clear thought leadership on AI adoption and business integration You are the expert, the advisor and the go-to person for our future tech landscape at Trideca.
- A hands-on, builder mindset - you will be comfortable moving between vision and execution and bringing the team with you.
- Have served in a leadership role for more than 5 years.
- Have led teams of at least 30 people and scaled teams by 40% per year.
