Toozy.ai is an agent-as-a-service company revolutionizing the $240B restaurant labor market with AI-native technology built specifically for restaurants and catering businesses.
We don't just sell software—we provide AI agents that work 24/7 to handle customer service, sales, operations, and marketing autonomously. From streamlining customer inquiries to generating customized quotes, optimizing pricing, and managing orders, Toozy automates the entire customer journey through multi-channel integrations (including but not limited to chat, email, phone, SMS).
The platform learns and adapts to each business's unique needs over time, delivering enterprise-grade capabilities via a scalable subscription model.
We are a founder-led team with deep domain expertise, currently dog-fooding our product in live pilots and backed by industry advisors.
About The Role: A Partner, Not an Employee
This isn't a job; it's a call to build a company. We are looking for a strategic partner to join the founding team as our Chief Technology Officer. You will not be working for Toozy.ai; you will be a fundamental part of what Toozy.ai becomes.
We already have a working product with live pilots. Now we need a technical visionary to take it to the next level—pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI and implementing breakthrough technologies that give us an unfair advantage. As CTO, you will have complete ownership of the product and technology roadmap, elevating our AI capabilities to industry-leading standards and scaling our infrastructure to serve millions of businesses.
What You'll Do
- AI Innovation & Strategy: Push the envelope on what's possible with AI. Research and implement breakthrough technologies (advanced agentic systems, novel RAG architectures, voice AI innovations) that differentiate us from competitors and deliver 10x value to customers.
- Technical Vision & Architecture: Own the entire technical stack and roadmap. Optimize and scale our existing architecture, making critical decisions that enable us to handle exponential growth while maintaining reliability and performance.
- Product & Engineering Execution: Lead hands-on development of cutting-edge features that take our product from good to exceptional. While you will build a team, you are not afraid to get your hands dirty and write code.
- Team Building & Mentorship: Recruit, lead, and mentor the founding engineering team. You will set the bar for technical excellence and create a culture of innovation and speed.
- External Representation: Be comfortable presenting to investors and enterprise clients. You will be the technical face of the company, explaining our AI capabilities, competitive advantages, and vision to stakeholders.
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate directly with the CEO on overall company strategy, product-market fit, and fundraising. You will be a key voice in every major decision the company makes.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Experience: You have a track record of shipping complex software products and scaling them, ideally with experience in AI/ML, NLP, or conversational AI. You've taken products from early stage to significant scale.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in modern web architecture. You are comfortable across the stack (our current stack includes React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, GCP/AWS) but are pragmatic about choosing the right tool for the job.
- AI Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience with LLMs (like GPT-4), vector databases, and building agentic systems. You understand both the power and the limitations of current AI technology and stay on the cutting edge of what's possible.
- Communication Skills: Comfortable presenting to investors, clients, and technical audiences. You can explain complex technical concepts in ways that non-technical stakeholders understand and get excited about.
- Leadership: Previous experience leading engineering teams or acting as a technical lead. You inspire others and can attract top talent.
- Startup DNA: You thrive in ambiguity, are relentlessly resourceful, and have a strong bias for action. You understand the risk/reward profile of an early-stage venture.
- Passion: A genuine excitement for the problem we are solving and the potential for AI to transform legacy industries.

We are a pre-seed startup. There is no salary for this role until we raise our Seed round. This is a sweat-equity position for a true partner who wants to build a company and share in the upside. This role is for someone who:
