The Role
This is an opportunity for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team while remaining deeply involved in building cutting-edge products. You’ll play a key role in delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions within a modern payments platform.
The role blends technical leadership with execution—you’ll guide architecture and delivery while still spending meaningful time coding and solving complex engineering problems. If you enjoy building products from the ground up, leading strong teams, and operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Drive end-to-end delivery across the software development lifecycle, from initial concept through to production
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Architecture, and QA to define and execute on technical roadmaps
- Champion engineering best practices across CI/CD, testing, system observability, and security standards
- Stay hands-on with development (roughly 25% of your time), contributing to code, reviews, and technical problem-solving
- Support production reliability through monitoring, incident response, and continuous system improvements
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to senior stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of database design and performance optimization (SQL Server or similar)
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred)
- Strong grasp of software architecture and distributed systems principles
- Comfortable working in Agile environments with distributed teams
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
Nice to Have
- Experience within fintech, payments, or financial services
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or Bitbucket
- Exposure to CI/CD and deployment tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps or similar)
- Interest in or experience with AI-assisted development tools
