Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Digital Transformation & Data Strategy

We’re partnering with a well-established, purpose-driven business entering a major phase of technology transformation and growth. The company operates at the intersection of data, sustainability, and digital consultancy, helping organisations across the UK.

The business is embarking on a large-scale digital and data transformation integrating multiple systems, unlocking value from rich data assets, and launching new technology products to improve customer experience and drive commercial growth.

The incoming Chief Technology Officer will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering this roadmap leading a talented, multi-disciplinary team across software, data, and product to modernise internal systems, scale digital capability, and develop customer-facing platforms and services.

The Opportunity

  • Lead a company-wide technology transformation and integration programme.
  • Define the digital strategy and architecture for the next 3–5 years.
  • Build and scale a high-performing technology team
  • Oversee the delivery of internal and customer-facing software products, including a new SaaS platform leveraging existing data assets.
  • Drive a data-first culture, enabling the business to commercialise insight and analytics.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and Board to shape strategy, influence investment decisions, and deliver measurable business value.
  • Partner with non-technical stakeholders to ensure every initiative has clear commercial ROI and customer benefit.

About You

We’re looking for a pragmatic and commercially astute CTO who can balance strategy, delivery, and leadership. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience leading digital transformation or modernisation within an SME or mid-market environment.
  • Strong technical understanding across software, data, and infrastructure able to translate business goals into scalable solutions.
  • Background in data-enabled or service-led businesses
  • Track record of productising data or building technology platforms that create new revenue streams.
  • Experience growing and structuring multi-disciplinary tech teams.
  • Collaborative, customer-first mindset, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ideally exposure to private equity or investor-backed environments, having led through growth or exit cycles.
