WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

At SimCorp, we develop products, services and solutions for leading financial institutions worldwide. In Product Development we build applications covering all aspects of investment management flows. Data and Reporting product areas cover multiple products and solutions for effortlessly ingesting, handling and usage of data. We are looking for an experienced engineering lead in the Reporting area (incl. Data warehousing and Client Communications solutions). Our Data Solutions strategy is to reduce integration complexity and make consistent, accessible, high-quality data a reality for every client. We are planning to utilize more AI technology in this area.

This is an opportunity for you to join the senior reporting leadership team, leading 3 designated product areas, consisting of 8 agile teams across several geographical locations. You report to the CVP of Data & Reporting.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Provide strategic leadership as a leader of leaders, and their engineering teams—setting clear direction, promoting collaboration, growth, and ensuring alignment with SimCorp’s vision and objectives
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence—creating an engaging environment that promotes growth, collaboration, and delivery of premium-quality software
  • Align engineering priorities with product strategy, ensuring focus on business-critical initiatives while enabling continuous improvement and scalability across teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, architecture, design, and operations, to deliver measurable value to our clients
  • Collaborate with your engineering peers and optimize systems for effective strategy execution
  • Partner with the architecture team to maintain clear technical direction and shape long-term engineering strategies that support scalability and innovation
  • Build the right capabilities within teams to meet current and future business needs. Overall responsibility for the health and evolution of multiple products within Reporting
  • Maintain close cost awareness, including infrastructure, cloud services (e.g., Azure), and staff
  • You enable cross-team and –product area planning and execution in Reporting, and manage conflicting priorities and stakeholder expectations
  • You have the responsibility to be on top of potential customer incidents / escalations and seeing them through to resolution
  • Enabling change – define incremental steps to implement transformations such as new technology adoption, location strategy or migration to SaaS operating models
  • Communicate, execute and follow-up on executive strategy to your organization
  • Lead and manage cross product area strategies supporting large scale initiatives

What We Value

  • Minimum three years experience leading leaders of cross-functional teams within a medium/large sized product area or enterprise solutions
  • Agile, lean and growth mindset. Experience with Agile practices in R&D.
  • Extensive technical expertise in data warehousing and reporting platforms—such as Snowflake or similar—covering dimensional and semantic data modeling, ELT/ETL pipelines, query performance tuning, and modern BI/reporting delivery
  • Experience with AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in SDLC.
  • You have a good grasp of core engineering practices such as testing methodologies, coding, CI/CD, security and architecture and willing to learn where you have gaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and defend a technical vision for a data/reporting organization — making build-vs-buy calls, evaluating platform choices, and guiding architectural direction in partnership with Architecture
  • Demonstrates initiative with a client-focused approach and clear execution drive. Capacity to handle conflicting priorities and manage stakeholder expectations
  • You stay focused when handling client incidents and maintain clear, constructive communication
  • You enjoy sparring with your peers in Engineering, Product Management and Architecture across Product Division to find the most effective solutions for the product areas and for SimCorp
  • Ability to anticipate the skillset, capability and capacity needs of the product areas across Reporting
  • Effective problem-solving and collaboration skills to overcome obstacles and implement change in a large organisation
  • You are pragmatic and able to handle change, promoting a culture of collaboration and trust
