What You'll Do

  • Develop and communicate a clear technology vision that aligns with the organisation’s strategic objectives across all business channels.
  • Oversee the reliable operation of core systems supporting stores, supply chain management, logistics, inventory control, and point-of-sale environments.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of digital transformation initiatives including business platform enhancements, programme development, data analytics infrastructure upgrades, and automation projects.
  • Establish strong cybersecurity protocols and governance structures that protect sensitive information and support regulatory compliance for a publicly listed entity.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to identify new opportunities for technology-enabled business growth while maintaining operational stability.
  • Build and mentor high-performing technology teams that value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
  • Foster partnerships with external vendors and technology providers to ensure access to cutting-edge solutions that drive competitive advantage.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for Chief Technology Officer brings substantial experience from senior roles within large-scale retail or distribution environments where they have successfully overseen both core operations and digital innovation initiatives. Your background should include hands-on involvement in major transformation projects spanning end to end technology management, advanced analytics artificial intelligence deployment or process automation. In addition you possess deep familiarity with mission-critical systems underpinning store supply chain logistics inventory management functions as well as comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity requirements applicable to listed companies. Your interpersonal strengths enable you to connect authentically with colleagues at every level building consensus around shared objectives while nurturing talent within your teams. A passion for staying abreast of technological advancements combined with disciplined project execution skills ensures you consistently deliver value against ambitious targets.

  • Extensive experience in senior technology leadership roles within large-scale retail or distribution businesses operating across multiple brands or channels.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex digital transformation projects
  • Deep understanding of core operational technologies supporting store operations, supply chain management systems (ERP/WMS/TMS), inventory control processes and point-of-sale environments.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing robust cybersecurity frameworks suitable for publicly listed companies subject to regulatory oversight.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships across executive teams as well as technical staff members.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams through periods of change by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional growth opportunities.
  • Strong vendor management skills with experience negotiating contracts for enterprise software solutions or cloud-based services relevant to retail/distribution sectors.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends in retail technology including AI/machine learning applications for personalisation or demand forecasting purposes.
  • Excellent project management abilities with a focus on delivering results through careful planning risk mitigation resource allocation stakeholder engagement.
