About the Opportunity:
The Software Engineering Manager leads engineering teams responsible for delivering scalable products that connect job seekers and employers. This role drives business value by overseeing execution, team morale, and code quality while fostering a culture of ownership and professional growth. The position involves close collaboration with product managers to align on product roadmaps and removing obstacles to enhance team productivity. It is pivotal in shaping engineering culture and innovation within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Own the mission, execution, morale, and code quality of the engineering team
- Collaborate with product managers to maintain and execute the product roadmap
- Remove roadblocks and implement process improvements to enhance team effectiveness
- Build community and culture within the engineering organization
- Develop, coach, motivate, and lead the team by example
- Promote and evolve innovation within the engineering function
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in fast-paced software development environments at scale
- Experience leading or managing a software engineering team
- Hands-on professional coding experience
- Experience building high traffic full stack web or data applications
- Preferred: BS/MS/PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field
- Preferred: 3+ years of engineering management experience
- Preferred: Proven ability to develop novel solutions to ambiguous problems
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- US base salary range: $180,000 - $250,000
- Salary is determined by role, level, location, skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors
- Compensation may include equity, bonuses, commission, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits
