About the Opportunity

The Software Engineering Manager will lead the AI Platform Team responsible for developing the core infrastructure that supports agentic AI workflows. This role guides a team of engineers to build scalable platforms and APIs that enable AI agents to operate effectively within the data ecosystem. The position drives the strategy for integrating emerging AI protocols and ensures close collaboration between platform and product teams. This leadership role shapes the technical standards for AI interaction, security, and governance, ensuring robust and reliable agentic experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of 5 to 8 engineers focused on AI platform development
  • Architect APIs and services to enable agentic workflows within the platform
  • Develop and implement strategies for Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools supporting LLMs
  • Collaborate with product teams to deliver platform primitives for agent use cases
  • Guide engineers in creating deterministic, agent-ready codebases
  • Establish technical standards for secure, governed, and auditable AI agent interactions

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing high-performing software engineering teams
  • Understanding of agentic architecture lifecycle (Plan, Act, Observe) and related infrastructure
  • Strong expertise in API design and familiarity with emerging standards like MCP or OpenAI Function Calling
  • Solid foundation in software engineering practices, including testing and CI/CD in AI contexts
  • Excellent written communication skills suited for remote collaboration

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with developer tools and data engineering workflows
  • Experience building systems managing state and context for LLM orchestration
  • Ability to collaborate strategically with external AI labs and internal teams
  • Experience with MCP servers and modern data stack concepts, including semantic layers

Pay Range and Compensation Package

  • The typical starting salary range for this role is: $180,000 - $220,000 USD
  • The typical starting salary range for this role in select locations is: $200,000 - $243,000 USD
  • Equity stake may be offered depending on legal limitations
