About the Opportunity:
The Director of Engineering will lead platform engineering efforts, overseeing data platforms, shared services, and core application systems critical to product delivery. This role is responsible for improving delivery reliability, defining architectural direction, and enabling scalable AI-ready products. The position focuses on translating ambiguity into clear execution and measurable results, driving both operational excellence and strategic growth within the engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
- Own platform strategy and execution across data infrastructure, shared services/APIs, and core systems
- Improve delivery predictability and systematically reduce technical debt
- Strengthen and evolve the platform engineering operating model for scalable growth and product sophistication
- Establish and enforce standards for operational readiness, performance, security, observability, and software development life cycle discipline
- Lead adoption of AI in engineering workflows and product systems to boost developer productivity and support intelligent features
- Lead and develop engineering managers and senior engineers with a focus on accountability, ownership, and cross-functional leadership
Requirements:
- 10+ years in software or data engineering, with significant experience in platform or shared-services environments
- 4+ years managing engineering managers and senior technical contributors across multi-team, cloud-based architectures
- Proven ability to improve execution discipline, organizational effectiveness, and cross-functional alignment at scale
- Experience defining platform strategy and operating models balancing modernization, technical debt reduction, and delivery commitments
- Strong preference for experience in data-intensive, analytics-driven product environments
- B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills to explain technical complexity to non-technical stakeholders
- Project management and organizational skills for overseeing multiple concurrent initiatives
- Analytical problem-solving skills with a forward-thinking mindset
- Openness to learning and experimenting with new technologies
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
