Purpose of Position:

As a Technical Engineering Manager, you are responsible for immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees bringing RF analysis software and Python driver support across various products including Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analysers etc. You will be responsible for staff development and ensuring the team’s growth is aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.

The position reports to ‘Director – Software Engineering’ and involves working with the Program Managers, Product Owners/Scrum masters and Marketing Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides immediate supervision to a small unit or group of employees.
  • Develop, and grow a diverse, collaborative team of software engineers.
  • Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Participate in solution definition, system architecture discussions, code reviews and provide feedback.
  • Participate in speed development of proof of concepts and evaluation of new technologies as needed.
  • Fosters a culture that embraces innovating for impact and continuous improvement.
  • Understand, enable Growth and development of Staff.
  • Responsible for team development and performance management.
  • Portion of the time expected to be spent in performing individual tasks related to the unit or group.

Background and Skills:

  • Good grasp of technologies and a quick learner with ability to understand technical details, especially platform development.
  • Ability to comprehend and influence architectural or design decisions.
  • Understanding of RF domain is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate hands on leadership.
  • Demonstrate leading teams in an Agile environment and questioning status quo.
  • Good communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and be a self-starter in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Comfortable assessing, coaching and providing feedback that builds mutual trust and respect.
  • 3-5 years of experience in hands on technical engineering management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
