Role Overview
Your goal will be to lead and empower a team of developers working toward engineering excellence. You will define the technical vision for sustainable and scalable software while driving the team’s performance through implementation of best practices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with developers, product analysts, product managers, and QA in an agile environment.
What You Will Do
- Hire, train, mentor, and coach software developers. Foster a high-performing, inclusive culture that supports career growth and technical excellence.
- Responsible for understanding team velocity and partner with our product managers with identifying high-level staffing plans, ensuring the right mix of skills and capacity to meet project needs.
- Oversee all aspects of the Agile Scrum process including coordinating daily stand-ups, leading grooming and refinement discussions, and facilitating decision making across teams to deliver smooth, quality releases.
- Identify, define, and implement processes that enhance the quality, delivery, and overall effectiveness of the team.
- Champion engineering excellence best practices; including but not limited to, code reviews, documentation, and testing.
- Lead strategic resource scheduling for both current and planned team initiatives.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equal amount of related professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software development is preferred.
- At least 5+ years’ experience in people management is preferred.
- An ability to translate technical topics to non-technical stakeholders, influence their decision making, and challenge the status quo when necessary.
- Flexibility to meet changing demands and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
- A collaborative mindset and desire to work in close-knit teams.
- Capacity to think critically, efficiently problem solve, and execute solutions.
