Orgmento - a forward-thinking software engineering and data sciences consultancy based in Accra - is looking for a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our talented engineering team in Accra, Ghana.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development and delivery process, from inception to deployment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet client needs.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in software engineering, coupled with proven leadership experience. You will work closely with our Director of Software Engineering as well as with cross-functional teams, guiding project planning and execution and fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment to meet key business objectives.
This is a full-time position based in our Accra office (part office, part remote-working), with a strong emphasis on fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the software engineering team to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget, while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Develop and implement engineering best practices, methodologies, and coding standards
- Facilitate and lead Agile ceremonies as scrum master, remove impediments, and ensure the team adheres to Agile best practices for continuous improvement
- Drive project planning and execution, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, and manage stakeholder communication to align goals and deliverables
- Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines and objectives
- Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on technical challenges and career development
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project scope and requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team to increase efficiency and quality
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform engineering strategies
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in software development, with expertise in relevant technologies and platforms
- Previous managerial or team leadership experience in a software engineering environment
- Proven experience in facilitating Agile practices and promoting a collaborative, iterative software development aligned with Agile frameworks
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Proven problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset
