Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Fractional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to architect and lead the next evolution of its non-custodial asset management systems. This is a hands-on builder role. The current stack is functional and externally audited, but requires a ground-up rebuild to reach institutional-grade scalability, reliability, and security. You will refine what exists, introduce modern engineering standards, and define a world-class technical foundation for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver secure, scalable on-chain infrastructure capable of supporting USD $10M+ in monthly throughput.
- Design systems achieving 99.99% uptime and institutional-grade reliability.
- Lead architecture and technical direction across Solidity and Rust codebases.
- Establish DevOps, audit, compliance, and deployment frameworks for high-trust execution.
- Implement repeatable security, monitoring, and penetration-testing processes.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to shape the long-term technical roadmap and product vision.
- Set technical standards and guide engineering execution with a focus on security, performance, and maintainability.
- 4+ years of experience in software or systems engineering, including 3+ years in technical leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Solidity and Rust (both required).
- Proven track record building and scaling blockchain or cloud-native systems.
- Deep understanding of wallet infrastructure, smart contract security, and cross-chain protocols.
- Strong expertise in DevOps, infrastructure automation, and secure deployment practices.
- Crypto-native mindset with uncompromising rigor around reliability, auditability, and user trust.
- Ability to communicate clearly and lead calmly in high-stakes environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing systems for institutional or high-net-worth clients.
- Background working with externally audited or compliance-heavy environments.
- Familiarity with portfolio execution systems or non-custodial asset management platforms.
- Prior experience in a fractional or advisory CTO capacity.
