Launchpad Careers, Inc. is seeking a product-focused Software Development Manager to help scale our regional agency SaaS platform into an enterprise workforce development platform for states. This role bridges product strategy, engineering execution, and team leadership, translating product vision into scalable Salesforce platform architecture while ensuring alignment with state workforce priorities, federal compliance, and Launchpad’s long-term product roadmap.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience building and delivering Salesforce managed packages in an ISV environment, along with experience leading engineers in enterprise or government contexts. Familiarity with workforce systems (WIOA, case management, reporting, labor exchange) and interest in applied AI are strong pluses.
You will serve as the technical and delivery leader for the product, partnering closely with Product Owners and Business stakeholders while directly managing development execution. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on Salesforce managed packages, Experience Cloud, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and applied evolve AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Product Platform & Managed Package Architecture
- Own end-to-end technical responsibility for Launchpad’s Salesforce managed package, including platform architecture, versioning strategy, and release lifecycle.
- Translate product roadmap priorities into scalable platform capabilities in partnership with Product and Business stakeholders.
- Design upgrade-safe and scalable data models, metadata frameworks, and configuration patterns to support multi-customer scale.
- Establish and enforce packaging standards for Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and Custom Metadata.
- Lead modular feature rollout strategies with backward compatibility across versions.
- Ensure alignment with Salesforce ISV best practices and security review requirements.
- Maintain product technical documentation (architecture diagrams, design artifacts, release notes, implementation guides).
- Establish architectural review processes and release readiness gates.
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and actively collaborate with internal and partner product teams, setting clear expectations for quality, velocity, and accountability.
- Drive sprint planning, technical prioritization, and delivery execution across product initiatives.
- Contribute hands-on to core platform development as needed (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, automation).
- Own the design, build, and AppExchange submission of Salesforce Managed Packages.
- Architect and evolve CI/CD pipelines and GitHub environments to enable reliable, repeatable releases.
- Establish development frameworks and engineering practices that improve product consistency, reliability, and scalability.
AI & Intelligent Features
- Design and implement AI powered platform product capabilities, including:
- Workflow automation
- Intelligent routing
- Recommendations and summarization
- Natural language interfaces
- Define guardrails for responsible AI usage within the product.
- Design secure LLM integrations with strong data governance.
- Integrate AI-driven development practices and tools into the engineering workflow.
- Contribute directly to AI functionality embedded in the managed package.
- Help evolve Launchpad toward an intelligent workforce platform.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of Salesforce development and architecture experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development.
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Managed Package development (required).
- Proven ownership of AppExchange products through multiple releases.
- Strong SaaS mindset (product platform vs single-org delivery).
- Strong Salesforce platform expertise (Apex, LWC, APIs, Flows, security, data modeling).
- Experience leading internal and distributed development teams.
- Strong product mindset balancing speed, quality, and scalability.
- Excellent communication across Product, Engineering and Leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Platform Developer II.
- Salesforce Application or System Architect certifications.
- Experience with Experience Cloud and Service Cloud.
- Familiarity with AI platforms (Agentforce, LLM-based services).
- Background in workforce, government, or human services systems.
- Experience designing secure, compliant enterprise platforms.
