Description

  • Provide full leadership and accountability for the daily operations of the Engineering Department
  • Oversee HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems across a 400+ room property
  • Direct and enhance preventive maintenance programs to protect revenue-generating areas and minimize downtime
  • Manage and optimize the hotel’s Energy Management System (DDC) and utility usage to drive efficiency and sustainability
  • Develop and manage the annual POMEC budget and lead execution of the Capital Plan
  • Lead large-scale capital projects, renovations, and product upgrades with strong project governance
  • Ensure strict compliance with fire, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Manage vendor contracts, supplier relationships, and service agreements
  • Oversee work order systems, maintenance documentation, certifications, and inspections
  • Lead scheduling, payroll, training, development, and performance management for the Engineering team
  • Partner closely with Operations, Housekeeping, and F&B leadership to protect asset integrity and guest experience
  • Serve as the property lead in emergency preparedness and crisis management

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive hotel engineering leadership experience, preferably within a large-scale full-service property
  • 3rd Class Stationary Engineer certification strongly preferred
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams in a high-volume hotel environment
  • Deep expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated success leading capital projects and major renovations
  • Strong experience in preventive maintenance programming and energy management
  • Financially astute with budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control experience
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities with a calm, solutions-oriented leadership style
  • Highly organized with exceptional communication and team development skills
