GPI seeks a Director of Engineering with a Highway, Bridge, or Traffic engineering background to join our growing Midwest operations in Dublin, OH. As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work in and grow our transportation department in Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or manage Transportation (Highway, Bridge, or Traffic) related projects in Ohio
  • Prepare or review written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
  • Prepare or review calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
  • Manage coordination with clients

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required, MS preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience in Highway, Bridge, or Traffic preferred
  • Ohio P.E. license
  • ODOT experience required
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers and designers

Requirements

  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working

HAA's client base includes architects, county, state and Federal government agencies, universities, contractors (both design/build projects and construction consulting), civil and MEP engineers and building owners. The HAA principals and associates have worked with many of these clients for over 20 years. Services include design of new buildings and parking structures, condition surveys (including the mobilization of the entire engineering staff to assess damage to numerous public and private buildings in the Mid-Atlantic region as a result of the August 23, 2011 earthquake), load-capacity studies, renovation and repair of existing structures, peer reviews, due-diligence and feasibility studies and expert witness testimony. HAA is currently providing consulting engineering services for multiple projects in the Mid-Atlantic region and, in the past, has worked on projects located in such diverse locations as Florida, Texas, California, Iraq, Pakistan and Peru.
