As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead a high-performing team of engineers in a remote-friendly culture that values technical craft, security, and elite developer experience. The Role
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence in Java and Python environments.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and backend APIs primarily hosted on AWS.
- Partner with Product, UX, and Architecture leaders to influence the technical roadmap and translate complex business requirements into high-quality software.
- Drive modern DevOps practices using Terraform, Github Actions, and Docker while maintaining observability via New Relic and Splunk.
- Champion "Keeping The Lights On" (KTLO) roadmaps to ensure long-term system stability, resilience, and security standards are met.
What You'll Need
- At least 6+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering with a minimum of 1 year in a formal management or team leadership role.
- Deep technical expertise in Java (6+ years) and backend/API development (4+ years), with additional experience in Python or React.js preferred.
- Hands-on mastery of AWS cloud environments (4+ years), including experience with Serverless architecture, SQL, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Proven track record of navigating agile delivery tools like Rally and managing incident response with PagerDuty.
- US Work Authorization is required (No sponsorship available for this specific role).
