Senior Software Engineering Manager
We're working with a major digital-first challenger bank and fintech pioneer on this exciting opportunity. We are looking for a visionary leader to scale engineering teams that build the next generation of credit card products using modern AWS cloud architectures and high-scale distributed systems.
The Role
- Lead and support a cross-functional group of 3 to 4 engineering teams (EMs and Engineers) to deliver mission-critical software features for millions of consumers.
- Act as a technical steward for high-performance platforms, navigating trade-offs between rapid feature delivery and long-term architectural health.
- Provide high-level coaching and mentorship to Engineering Managers, fostering a culture of empowerment, innovation, and technical excellence.
- Collaborate directly with Product Managers and Designers to define the roadmap for key business goals within a complex, regulated financial environment.
- Drive inner-sourcing opportunities and engineering best practices across the wider organization to reduce waste and accelerate delivery.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplined engineering teams in a fast-paced environment, ideally within Fintech or Financial Services.
- Deep technical expertise in Cloud computing, specifically AWS (Amazon Web Services), and building scalable, resilient microservices.
- Strong track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining top-tier engineering talent and future leaders.
- Expertise in modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, and agile methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence technical strategy and drive organizational change across business units.
