We are partnered with our client to find a CTO for their growing tech start-up. If you are a highly technical software engineer who grew up building products using Ruby/Rails and have reached a point in your career where you now want to build a business, then get in touch. My client is highly ambitious and needs someone to work alongside the Founder to drive the next phase of growth for the business. You aren’t just building features; you are building a company. You will own the technology, lead the engineering team, drive the product roadmap, and—most importantly—own the results.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical vision and hands-on development.
- You are expected to be the "Engineer-in-Chief," setting the standard for Ruby/Rails best practices.
- Work at the intersection of engineering and product. You must have a "product gut" that allows you to prioritise features that drive revenue, not just technical elegance.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performance engineering team. You’ll instill a culture of speed, accountability, and "doing whatever it takes."
- Partner with the Founder to align technical milestones with sales targets, and market expansion.
- Ensure our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Expert-level proficiency in Ruby/Rails. You’ve built and scaled complex applications and aren't afraid to get back into the repo.
- You put the customer at the centre of all things, delivering and creating value.
- You understand that code is a means to an end: a successful business.
- High "talent density" mindset. You know how to spot, hire, and retain A-players.
