Summary
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology development and implementation to enhance both our customer-facing and internal platforms. The CTO will work with Executive Management to grow the company through the use of technological resources and play a critical role in shaping the technology vision and roadmap, overseeing all aspects of technology strategy, development, operations, and security.
Job Functions
- Develop and implement a long-term technology vision and roadmap aligned with the overall business strategy of the financial institution.
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and implementation of emerging technologies that will drive innovation, improve efficiency, and enhance customer experience.
- Oversee all aspects of technology development, operations, and security, applications, data management, and cybersecurity.
- Build and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage technology budgets and resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards and implement robust security measures to protect customer data and privacy.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in financial technology (FinTech) and the broader technology landscape.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key technology vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
- Manage geographically distributed software development teams—including both internal and overseas groups—by driving effective communication, collaboration, and high performance to achieve organizational goals and deliver impactful technology solutions.
- Partner with leaders across departments to provide guidance and expertise in developing their technology roadmap and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training suitable to their position with the bank.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Additional relevant work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the formal education requirement.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of leading successful technology initiatives and driving business value through technology.

- Strong understanding of financial services regulations and compliance requirements.
- Deep knowledge of current and emerging technologies relevant to the financial services industry, such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, embedded finance, and data analytics.
- Demonstrated success in leading both internal and overseas development teams, leveraging cross-cultural communication and remote management expertise to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and successful delivery of technology solutions.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to advise and support department leaders in technology strategy and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into actionable technology solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A collaborative and results-oriented work style.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Work Arrangement
- This position is remote.
- Full-time weekday position. Requires occasional evening and weekend hours to assist with off-hour IT tasks.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
