About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our Mission Planning team at Boeing in Hazelwood, MO. This leadership role is critical to the success of the Tomahawk Cruise Missile program, a key component of our defense portfolio. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee a talented team of engineers, guiding the development, integration, and maintenance of complex mission planning software systems. Your expertise will ensure that our solutions meet stringent quality, safety, and performance standards while aligning with the strategic objectives of our defense clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead innovative projects that have a direct impact on national security and defense capabilities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in software development and team leadership. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management, systems engineering, or cybersecurity are preferred. Proven experience managing software engineering teams in a defense or aerospace environment, with a strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. Security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required for this role.
Responsibilities
