About The Role
The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Simulation Framework Software Manager to join our Simulation Frameworks, Services, and Tools (SFST) Deployment team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This leadership role is pivotal in supporting the Software Fabric / Boeing Emulation, Simulation, Test, and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) business organization. The successful candidate will oversee the deployment and management of simulation software across the enterprise, ensuring the tools and frameworks support software verification, hardware verification, aircrew training, and warfare scenario simulations. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and people leadership skills, aiming to foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive environment. The role involves managing engineering teams, developing project plans, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and continuously seeking process improvements to meet Boeing’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in a leadership role, such as team leader, project manager, or formal manager, or have completed Boeing’s internal "Exploring Leadership" course. Additionally, candidates must have at least five years of experience managing software engineering activities and over two years of experience working within aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech sectors. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain the necessary security clearance. A proven track record of managing teams, developing software solutions, and working within the software development lifecycle is essential. Experience with simulation software engineering, testing, and industry standards for safety-critical software is highly desirable. Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering and technical teams responsible for simulation framework deployments, ensuring project milestones and quality standards are met.
- Develop, implement, and oversee project and process plans, policies, and operational goals aligned with Boeing’s strategic objectives.
- Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and team members, to facilitate seamless collaboration.
- Provide technical oversight and approval of approaches, products, and processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements, proactively addressing issues as they arise.
- Lead efforts in software testing, validation, and integration within high-integrity, safety-critical environments.
- Promote DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines to enhance software deployment efficiency.
