About The Role
The Boeing Company is seeking a highly skilled Simulation Framework Software Manager to join our Simulation Frameworks, Services, and Tools (SFST) Deployment team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This leadership role is instrumental in supporting the Software Fabric / Boeing Emulation, Simulation, Test, and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) business organization. The successful candidate will oversee the management and coordination of simulation software deployment across the enterprise, ensuring the delivery of high-quality simulation tools that support software verification, hardware verification, aircrew training, and warfare scenario simulation.
This position involves managing a team of engineers and technical professionals involved in the development, testing, and integration of simulation software. The role requires a combination of technical expertise in simulation software engineering and strong leadership skills to motivate and guide teams, foster innovation, and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders. The manager will play a critical role in planning, executing, and improving processes, ensuring that project goals and operational objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities include developing project plans, establishing policies, overseeing technical approaches, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Qualifications
Candidates should possess at least a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field. A minimum of three years of leadership experience, such as team management, project management, or formal managerial roles, is required. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in the software development lifecycle and at least two years of experience working within aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industries. The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance is mandatory, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Preferred qualifications include active security clearance, experience managing or leading technical teams, and a strong background in simulation software engineering and testing. Knowledge of industry standards for safety-critical, high-integrity software, DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines is highly desirable. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, along with adaptability to change and ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of engineers performing technical activities related to simulation framework deployments, ensuring project milestones and quality standards are met.
- Develop and implement project and process plans, establish policies, and set operational goals aligned with Boeing’s strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports to facilitate collaboration and effective communication.
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Support, develop, and motivate team members through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
