About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our Mission Planning team in Hazelwood, MO. This pivotal role is integral to the success of the Tomahawk Cruise Missile program, overseeing a team of over 15 software engineers responsible for maintaining and transforming the Tomahawk Planning System. The position involves managing the program’s profit and loss (P&L), ensuring technical excellence, and aligning project objectives with strategic organizational goals. This role is ideal for a leader passionate about advancing mission planning capabilities for the U.S. and its allies, contributing directly to national security initiatives.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess an active U.S. Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • They should have at least five years of experience working within Agile software development methodologies, demonstrating a strong understanding of modern development practices.
  • Additionally, a minimum of three years of experience managing software engineering teams is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential to effectively lead teams and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications include domain experience with government applications, experience as a Program Manager, and a proven track record of developing and presenting strategic recommendations to leadership.

  • Deliver results by establishing metrics and KPIs, monitoring progress, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee program cost, schedule, and performance, including the preparation and submission of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documentation.
  • Ensure the team meets or exceeds targets for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members through developmental opportunities and job assignments that enhance capabilities and satisfaction.
