About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineering Manager to join our Government Vehicle Health Management Systems (GVHMS) team based in Hazelwood, MO. This leadership role involves managing a team of talented software engineers with a focus on software test engineering. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting Boeing's Global Services (BGS) organization by developing and maintaining innovative solutions that enhance aircraft health monitoring and maintenance processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead critical projects that directly impact mission readiness, safety, and operational efficiency for defense and commercial aircraft.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in the full software development lifecycle, with at least three years in a leadership or management capacity overseeing software engineering activities. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or related fields from an accredited institution is required. Security clearance is preferred, with a Secret clearance being advantageous. Additional desired qualifications include expertise in cloud application development, hardware/software testing, and experience with earned value management (EVM). Candidates with a proven track record of managing complex projects, developing strategic roadmaps, and fostering team growth will be highly considered.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and motivate a team of software engineers to achieve project goals and maintain high-performance standards.
- Establish and nurture relationships with peers, business partners, customers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Collaborate with testing teams to develop comprehensive test plans, frameworks, and engineering processes that validate system functionality and reliability.
- Create and maintain detailed roadmaps for software testing, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance across projects.
- Develop and implement project and process plans, policies, and procedures, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement.
- Secure necessary resources for projects, oversee technical approaches, and ensure alignment with organizational strategies and standards.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required to support project needs, stakeholder engagement, and team coordination.
