About The Role

The Boeing Company is seeking a highly skilled Simulation Framework Software Manager to join our Simulation Frameworks, Services, and Tools (SFST) Deployment team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This role is integral to supporting our Software Fabric / Boeing Emulation, Simulation, Test, and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) business organization. The successful candidate will oversee the management and coordination of simulation software deployment across the enterprise, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that support software verification, hardware verification, aircrew training, and warfare scenario simulation. This position involves leading a team of engineers and technical specialists, managing project timelines, and collaborating with various stakeholders to meet organizational goals.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of one year of leadership experience in roles such as team leader, project manager, or equivalent, or have completed Boeing’s internal “Exploring Leadership” course. A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience managing or leading software engineering activities, along with over five years of experience in the software development lifecycle. Additionally, a minimum of two years working within aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industries is preferred. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of engineers and technical staff performing activities related to simulation framework deployments, ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within scope.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee project and process plans, including policies and operational goals aligned with Boeing’s strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and team members to facilitate effective collaboration and communication.
  • Provide technical oversight by reviewing and approving approaches, products, and processes, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for high-integrity, safety-critical software development and testing practices.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment by actively seeking diverse perspectives, encouraging open dialogue, and listening to team members and stakeholders.
  • Support the integration of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines to enhance software deployment processes.
