About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Emulation Software Manager to join our Emulation Software team based in Berkeley, Missouri. This leadership role is pivotal in supporting Boeing’s Software Fabric and the Boeing Emulation, Simulation, Test, and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) business organization. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of emulation software solutions that underpin critical aerospace and defense projects. This role involves managing a talented team of engineers and technical staff, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that supports software verification, hardware verification, and product innovation efforts across the enterprise.
The Emulation Software Manager will play a key role in aligning technical strategies with business objectives, fostering a collaborative environment, and nurturing talent within the team. The position requires a combination of technical expertise in embedded and low-level software design, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The manager will also maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and partners to ensure project success and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in the software development lifecycle, with at least two years in aerospace, defense, or a similarly high-tech industry, is required. Leadership experience, whether through formal management roles or large-scale project management, is essential, along with the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, along with a proven track record in embedded software engineering and hardware/software integration.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, active security clearance, and experience managing or leading software engineering teams. Familiarity with industry standards for high-integrity, safety-critical software, DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of engineers performing engineering and technical activities related to emulation and embedded software development.
- Develop, implement, and oversee project and process plans, ensuring alignment with Boeing’s strategic goals and operational standards.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and team members to facilitate collaboration and project success.
- Provide technical oversight and approval for approaches, products, and processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for safety and high-integrity software, and promote best practices in software engineering.
- Support the integration of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous delivery pipelines to optimize software development workflows.
- Lead efforts in troubleshooting, resolving technical challenges, and driving technical excellence within the team.
