About The Role
Infor is seeking a talented Manager to join our SunSystems R&D team, a critical part of our multi-tenant cloud solution offerings. SunSystems is a well-established financial management platform known for its comprehensive functionality, real-time analytics, and seamless integration within Infor’s technology ecosystem. The Manager will lead a diverse team of engineers based in Farnborough, UK, Hyderabad, India, and Shanghai, China, working on new feature development, product modernization, and ongoing maintenance of SunSystems and Query & Analysis products. This leadership position involves strategic planning, project management, and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure high-quality delivery aligned with business goals. The successful candidate will be a key member of the R&D leadership team, influencing departmental strategies and ensuring effective communication across international teams.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background complemented by extensive leadership experience. A broad understanding of software development, release management, and agile methodologies is essential. Prior experience managing teams in a hybrid working environment, particularly with diverse technical skill sets, is highly desirable. Knowledge of formal release governance processes, such as ISO27001, and familiarity with enterprise-level applications, especially in financial or ERP domains, will be advantageous. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are required to effectively collaborate with global teams and stakeholders. A proactive, motivated attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth is essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the SunSystems R&D leadership team and the Director of Development to develop strategic initiatives, communicate goals, and provide leadership within the R&D organization.
- Manage and support a team of engineers across multiple locations, fostering a positive environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and professional development.
- Work closely with HR, recruitment, and facilities teams to support hiring, onboarding, and team well-being initiatives.
- Participate actively in departmental strategy, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives and coordinating efforts across international teams in the UK, China, and India.
- Oversee release management processes, ensuring adherence to governance standards, timely delivery, and high-quality product releases in collaboration with central governance, cloud operations, and support teams.
- Coordinate with architects, development leads, and QA teams to plan and execute product feature releases and critical fixes, ensuring seamless integration within agile workflows.
- Partner with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to align release schedules with development cycles, maintaining transparency and stakeholder engagement.
- Guide and mentor team members, supporting their growth, onboarding, and long-term career development while building motivation and a collaborative team culture.
- Engage in technical discussions, problem-solving, and incident management, providing expert guidance and ensuring swift resolution of issues.
