Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement an annual comprehensive product roadmap for all PDCA product lines and markets. Prioritize investments across product lines to maximize impact. Establish and evolve a five-year vision for the PDCA product offering and supporting technology roadmap.
Lead teams to develop new products on-time, on-spec and on-budget with a view to reducing overall new product development (NPD) cycle time. Deliver cost-out through Value Add/Value Engineering (VAVE) process in all product lines.
Oversee the Engineer-to-order (ETO) process and automation tools for all product lines in PDCA ensuring excellence in customer drawing approval packages and manufacturable high quality ETO designs. Attract, develop and retain talent for both product design engineers and ETO engineers.
Partner with HR for early campus recruiting, intern programs, CO-OP assignments and direct hires. Conduct business-level verification, reliability and market testing of new solutions. Lead the business patent council and meet division objectives for Intellectual Property creation.
Manage R&D expenses and Capital spending for the Division. Ensure new and existing product designs are of the highest quality with robust reliability through advanced modeling, simulation, reliability testing and consistent use of Design for Six Sigma.
Interface with field Application Sales Engineers on highly technical product questions and issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in product engineering.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- MBA or equivalent business degree.
- Active leadership in industry committees and standards organizations (IEEE, UL, NEMA, IEC, NFPA).
- Expertise in New Product Development and Engineer-to-Order systems.
- Deep knowledge of electrical physics, power distribution, UL/IEC safety standards.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory influences, and competitive landscape.
Compensation and Benefits
This includes competitive pay and a variety of benefit programs for eligible employees. The expected annual salary range for this role is $198749.97 - $291499.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
