Title: Software Engineering Manager

Report To: Director of Engineering
Base Salary: $200,000 - $225,000

The Position Details:
We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead one of our core development teams. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding a talented group of engineers, aligning technical strategy with business goals, and contributing directly to the continued development of our platform. Our stack includes Ruby on Rails, Python, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Postgres, dbt, and AWS (Lambda, ECS, Docker).
You will report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in product, analytics, ops, and design to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing software solutions. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who values team development, continuous improvement, and building a culture centered on quality, autonomy, and innovation.
Why This Role Matters
This person will own a critical slice of our platform-leading a full-stack team working on both customer-facing and internal tools. They’ll drive scalable backend architecture (Python, Ruby on Rails, AWS), improve developer tooling and integrations, and mentor technologists across all levels of development and engineering.
They should have the technical depth to lead architecture discussions, the EQ to support engineers in a remote setting, and the strategic thinking to align with company OKRs. Your team and work will directly support initiatives across technology and engineering, product management, data science and analytics, business intelligence, and internal operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Has led multiple software engineers through complex platform builds - ideally in hyper-growth startup B2B SaaS environments
- Can navigate both backend-heavy projects (architecture, API design, infrastructure) and frontend concerns (React, TypeScript)
- Comfortable with fast iteration, ambiguity, and setting technical direction from scratch
- Has shipped code using: Python, Rails, React, AWS, GraphQL
- Will help scale culture, not just code. Driving continuous improvement and innovation!
