CTO (Chief Technology Officer) – SaaS Platform & Product (Remote)
About the opportunity
For a privately funded European SaaS company led by experienced founders, we are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to take full ownership of platform, product engineering and technology strategy.
The role comes with competitive executive compensation and meaningful equity participation.
The company is building a mission-critical B2B platform used by enterprise clients across multiple international markets. The product operates at the intersection of workflow automation, data integrity, compliance and performance, and is designed to scale globally.
This is not a “title-only” role. You will be the first full-time CTO, shaping the technical foundation, engineering culture and long-term scalability of the platform.
Remote-first role within Europe.
Your role & impact
As CTO, you will:
- Own the end-to-end technology strategy: architecture, platform scalability, security and delivery
- Design and evolve a robust, multi-tenant SaaS platform with high availability and strong data integrity
- Work closely with founders and senior stakeholders to translate product vision into technical execution
- Build, lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team
- Define and enforce engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, code quality, observability)
- Ensure security, compliance and reliability across markets
- Act as the company’s technical authority towards partners, customers and investors
What we’re looking for
Must-haves
- Proven experience as CTO, VP Engineering or similar senior leadership role in a SaaS or platform-driven company
- Strong hands-on technical background with the ability to stay close to architecture and code
- Experience building and scaling B2B SaaS platforms (early-stage to growth)
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures (AWS or GCP)
- Solid backend expertise and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL strongly preferred)
- Strong product mindset and ability to balance speed, quality and scalability
- Comfortable operating in high-ownership, low-ego environments
Nice to have (not required)
- Experience with AI/ML-powered features or data-driven products
- Familiarity with language models, agent-based systems or semantic search
- Background in regulated or compliance-sensitive domains
- AI is not a must-have. We care about excellent platform engineering and leadership first.
